Hi everybody! I know I need to write a post, so here it is.

I haven’t updated since christmas huh? Well, we had a good christmas I’d say. On christmas eve we went and performed at a bed and breakfast. It was pretty fun, and low key. I brought my accordion and stuff. We got some pictures, which I think you can see at Rachel’s Blog.

And yeah, that night we all opened presents. I got some blankets, some screwdrivers, and a remote controlled helicopter later in the mail from Micah. It was a good christmas pretty much. We had family over and stuff, and had a good time. Micah watched it all on webcam too. :D

Then on christmas day, we went over to Anna and Caleb’s house for christmas dinner. It was good :)

After all of the christmas things were over, came a bit of time for recooperation, and then the next big day: New Years!

We went over to the scotts house for the new years party, and had fun. We did a lot of different stuff, and we stayed up until about 3 AM instead of just midnight. Needless to say, I went to sleep pretty quickly once I got to bed!

Umm, since then not too much has happened, but life’s been good. I haven’t done much more on my accordion, but I did get that button unstuck :)

k that’s all!

I haven’t mentioned something around here. A friend of ours, Andy fell off of 30ft ladder last week, and got out of the hospital today. If you could keep him in your prayers, that would be great.

I better get to it before it’s too late!!

I’m gonna post now, or I won’t be able to post what’s been happening!

So, last week we went to the browns(did I mention that?) and had a good time singing and playing.

Then I finally finished the tour of homes stuff on Monday night.

Then on wednesday there was the bowling stuff(See my HSB Here).

And on Thursday I called Joe B, and asked about getting coal. He said he’d get it here sometime between then and Saturday.

Friday rolled around, and we went to youth group. It was alright. They did scriptionary, so it was a little fun :D.

Saturday came, and Isaac and I went and worked over at Chuck M’s to do some work. Did some furniture moving, and some weed diggin(not the smoking kind…. don’t worry.). Following that, we headed over to the neashams house to do some “filming”.

I’ll explain in a little more detail about this. Obadiah got a video cam recently. Not only that, he also got a cool halloween costume(not used for halloween though), which is a Gorilla suit!

This suit looks totally cool. It was $50(on sale) and has the face, and the suit. It’s really neat! I’ll post video’s once we get them. :D The thing was very hot though. It was like a snowsuit with fur! It was fun though.

On Sunday(today), I woke up really stiff. Nevertheless, Mary decided we were going to a pot-luck at the ontario baptist. I actually wore my YFG T-shirt the first time today. :P At first I thought it’d be big, but It actually fits fairly well. :D And yeah, we went to the pot-luck, then went to the best store in Ontario: Grocery Outlet. We spent a while in there, and came home with a bundle. :D

And yeah, not much else….

3. Have a sense of humor, hold your horses, be patient if there is misunderstanding.
4. Talk about interesting topics which involves both lives experiences, so that both people can be involved.
5. Dont talk too much about yourself, but try to discover what’s on other side! Try to find things out about the person you are talking to.
6. If he/she is from another culture, first get information about his/her customs, otherwise there might be problems and lots of misunderstanding while talking.
7. Have a passion about meeting new people and having an endless list of friends.(wow, maybe that’s the one I’m missing!)

The first thing that popped into my head was the verse that says he who wants friends must show himself friendly. I think it’s just a matter of being friendly with people - introducing yourself, finding out about them - what they like to do, how they got saved, whatever.

Great job!

Not Quite A Contest

October 6, 2007
Filed under: Uncategorized — BenjieP @ 2:47 pm

Hey ya’ll!
You might say I’m doing a contest. It’s not really a contest though, because that’s not the focus.

I’m looking for some tips on how to be outgoing. I’m sure I’m not the only introvert who wants to know what the outgoing people have in their head, so, remember if you do participate, I’m not the only one who’s gonna read your comments!

All participants will recieve a prize(this is what makes people think contest. Prize=Contest). What’s the prize? It’s a spiffy Award that I had professionally designed by AJwStudios and it will be custom made for you as well. It Will read:
True Extrovert
[Your Name]

([Your Name] means you’re gonna be on the medal)

Here’s The Big One
Here’s a small icon sized one

Though, there’s a catch and that’s, I can only have this done until next saturday(one week from posting), So get to it while you can! It ends the 13th.

So, if you can please offer at least one tip in the form of a comment, I’d most appreciate it!

Thanks!

-Benjamin

P.S. Tell a few outgoing friends about this… The more the merrier!
P.P.S. Oh, and Tell a few shy/introverted friends too!
P.P.P.S. Do you like Post Post Post Scripts?

I had a good time! Tonight’s speaker was Donald Chittick! Talked about ancient man. Very very interesting stuff. Creation Compass is his website. It’s hard to write much about what you’re still digesting!

Unfortunate Event

September 7, 2007
Filed under: Uncategorized — BenjieP @ 11:38 am

I had been planning on updating my blog, but hadn’t had anything to say. I guess now I have something to say.

A car wreck just happened out front. I guess the higway has been getting busier. 2 wrecks this year right on the corner. Rachel game downstairs and said she thought she heard a long skreetch of brakes and then a tumble of a car. I thought maybe she just imagined it. a few minutes later she decided we should go out there and check it out, so I grabbed the flashlight and we went out there.

To our surprise, an SUV was pulling in to the ditch slowly, and there were headlights of a car in the neighbors fence. Rachel asked should we go and check it out, and I thought yes so I walked over there with our flashlight. Another SUV pulled in to the neighbors driveway and asked what was happening “I’m not sure” I said and continued over to where Mr. Seward(I later found out) was over there on his cell phone calling it in. “Does that flashlight work?” he said. “Yeah” I replied. He grabbed it and looked in the car after saying “there’s nobody in the car”. I looked inside while he looked at the licensing and stuff.

After looking around for a minute, I spied some sunglasses and a cap on the other side of the car. They were somewhere close. Mr. Seward gave me back the flashlight, and just as the Police showed up, I turned around and there was a body. “There!” I said. Mr. Seward and I looked over there and I asked “is he alive?” “I think he’s gone…” was the reply.

The Policeman came over there “Benjie get your gloves!” he said to the other policeman. Mr. Seward and I both walked away and stood at the back of the car. “That’s really too bad…” he kept on saying. The man didn’t appear to be breathing. He had either been thrown from the car, or had gotten out from the car, tried to walk and fallen down. After that, Mr. Seward got in his car and left. I walked back to the fence where Rachel was still watching. “Are they ok?” she asked. “No, I think he’s dead” I replied. “Dead?” “We looked at him and he doesn’t seem to be breathing”. The ambulance pulled up just as I climbed through the fence. Flashers and sirens everywhere.

Death can come on any of us so suddenly. It’s worthwhile to be prepared.

whoops!
