Well, today, the basement flooded. Yup, I went in to the kitchen to get a glass of water and the water was really low pressure so “uh oh! Pumps having trouble!” And I ran down there. And you know those dreams you have about your basement flooding or your house flodding and you’re floating on your bed? Well this was like thise only a lot less water! So, I ran over to the pump and. just like in those dreams, it’s running and all the water is pouring out aaallll over the ground! So, naturally, I switched the power off to it, not wanting to get electrocuted and also wanting it to stop pouring out all over the ground.
After that, I went upstairs and informed Dad that the basement seemed to have flooded. Which, of course caught his attention and he went and looked! And sure enough, just like I said, yup it’s flooded alright! Only a couple or three inches but still, nonetheless flooded. So, he went around the back door, not wanting to get his feet wet only to find that the back door was locked shut. So, I went around and opened it and he looked around and we went and got the fountain pump to see if it’d do it. Well, not quite good enough to pump it all out. But, we set it going in buckets. Then I was on my own from there. Dad went inside and I went and grabbed the shop vac and sucked up all the water(not with my mouth - with the vacuum!).
Getting through all the stuff floating about my head was hazardous Vacuuming around all that stuff was not real easy and, even now, I’m not entirely sure I got all the water out possible. I’m sure that a lot of the water will evaporate(we opened up the window down there to ensure that). Anyways, the reason for the title of this post(”Who spilled the beans?”), is that, there was a certain container of beans down there which, as you might have guessed, spilled. I’m sure if you were a bag of beans, and two inches of water was underneath you, you’d spill too!
