Work Work… Oh! So Exciting!

author Posted by: BenjieP on date Sep 25th, 2008 | filed Filed under: Everyday stuff

Lately I’ve been working on some online business idea’s, and for the past few days, it’s been awfully exciting. :D It’s funny how you can fail at about 10 different idea’s, but when one works, it works like crazy! That’s pretty much how it’s been going here. I haven’t gotten all of the results in yet though, so I’m not sharing them just yet.

Sorry I haven’t updated for a while though. I’ve definitely been keeping busy though! I should post more about my busy-ness hmm? ;)

Okay, I’ll tell you about the weekend.

This weekend, we had James (my 14 y/o nephew) over. You see, Rachel was going in for her driving test on Tuesday (fill ya in on that later) so Caleb suggested that she drive them to Sisters Oregon NPRA Rodeo. They didn’t have room for another person though, so we swapped.

It was fairly fun. James did some yard work for us (hey, his parents told him to!) so we got a pretty good deal out of it! Just as an interesting fact here: In Idaho, we have these weeds called “Kosha” weeds. They grow to be about 7 foot high on average, and they’re awful to get out. Our back yard is full of them. So, when James did “Yard Work” he chopped down a truck load of them. In fact, after he had gotten them down, Lonnie came over with his grain truck and hauled them off to feed his Aunts Ponies. (I guess they love those kind of weeds!)

And yeah, James and I also practiced Free Running, which I’ve been trying to get in to. In case you’re wondering, you can go to Wikipedia and find out what Free Running is.

And umm, we had fun… James popped my tetherball, but I bought another one a few months back to replace it with. :P

And that was the weekend!

And ah, thank Anne for reminding me about this :) Rachel took her driving test on Tuesday, and is now officially a licensed driver! Congratulations to Rachel! Go Here And Tell Her Congrats

On A Roll…

author Posted by: BenjieP on date Sep 16th, 2008 | filed Filed under: Uncategorized

Today I’m on a roll. :D I’ve installed a blog, written some posts, installed some plugins, almost did a handspring, (hey, give me time!) gone for a run, and did 30 sit-ups! (That’s really good for me)

So yeah, today is going to be a great day. :D The sun’s shining, I’ve got lots I can do, and I’m ready to do it! It’s really awesome.

I was just thinking though…Why is today going so good? Is it because yesterday went good? Is it because I got a good nights’ rest? Is it just… because? I think there’s a bit of a correlation I can track between today and yesterday.

I went to sleep in a good mood.

Yesterday was a good day also. The night before, I was a bit disappointed in myself for not writing articles, but I decided that I should wake up tomorrow and be ready to do it all. But to put myself in a good mood for the night, I began reading my Bible again. You see, for the last few days (or week or whatever it is) I haven’t been reading my bible, except for the verses I read in the morning. (and sometimes I’d even skip that!) So that night, I read 1 Timothy 1, and went to sleep. It had a profound effect on the following day. Not to mention the funny dreams I had that night… :D

So, a word of advice. You want tomorrow to go good? Go to bed with something you’re looking forward to. Read your Bible and get some purpose for the next day.

Comments anyone? What do you like to do when you want your day to go well? When do you read your bible?

How To Make Some Money Writing.

author Posted by: BenjieP on date Sep 11th, 2008 | filed Filed under: Uncategorized

Okay, this post is for just in case you would like to make some money sitting at your desk writing articles. There’s no application to fill out (except a web form), you’re not working for clients (unless you want to), and how much you make depends on how much, and how well you write.

How many Words Per Minute can you type? If it’s anything above 20 (and it should be if you’ve been on the net very long…) then you can make $9+ an hour writing articles.

They don’t have to be anything special, ground breaking, earth shaking, or even new news for that matter. They just have to have proper spelling, good grammar, a unique way of saying something, and at least 400 words in them.

Just cutting to the chase, there’s a website called Associated Content that will pay you upfront for unique articles you’ve written. The minimum is $3, but they pay more, the more unique or “newsworthy” your article is.

If you can write 3 articles per hour (one every 20 minutes… that’s about 20 WPM average if you do 400 words.) you’ll make at least $9 an hour. They will pay a lot for a really good article though… a lot of people get paid $10 for their articles, and I’ve even heard of a $50 article before.

So, go and check them out.

Q&A

  • Can I reuse the content I post elsewhere, say, a blog?
  • Yep. You can’t use content that you’ve already published on your blog, or elsewhere, but you can reuse it if you first publish it to Associated Content and with an Non-Exclusive License.

  • Have you gotten paid? Are they for real?
  • Yep. I’ve gotten paid (they pay by paypal) and so I know they’re certainly for real. I wouldn’t even recommend them if they weren’t…

  • Who is this ideal for?
  • Stay at home Mom’s come to mind, but basically, anyone who’s self-motivated, and wants to work from home. Oh yeah, you have to be able to write. :)

  • I’m not a writer… Why would they want my content?
  • Good question. I’m not a writer either, but they still pay me for my content. Give yourself some credit though: Writers are people who write. You can become one very easily just by… writing. :)

Parakeets

We have two new pets in the house: A male, and a female Parakeet. We haven’t named them yet, but so far, they seem to like music. That is, when I played some accordion, they started dancing (no joke) and when I played piano, they chirped along. So, here’s some pics.

I think this is the boy.

Boy?

And this would be the girl…

A Girl?

And here’s the both of them.

Together!

Another Milestone…

Last night, I finished. I did my usual ritual: Turn on the light, sit down at my desk, read my bible. But this time, I finished Revelation! So, now I’ve finished reading the bible cover to cover for the third time… Now what? I haven’t really decided.

Should I start again?

Should I take it one book at a time?

Should I study one chapter at a time?

Good questions… I don’t know the answer to that yet! It is cool to have done this three times though… There’s been a lot to learn in that time, and I wouldn’t trade that for the world. :D

So, do any of you have a sort of reading plan for your bible? What do you find works best for you?
